Yang Xun

Yang Xun (b.1981) was born in Chongqing and graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in 2005.

As one of the most representative contemporary artists born in the 1980s, Yang Xun's relationship between painting and tradition is inextricably connected. Traditional Chinese landscaping, Chinese opera figures, rockeries, flowers, and bamboos in traditional Chinese style are the major elements in his works. His painting appears to be an attempt to revive certain traditions, especially from an aesthetic perspective. His work, with a touch of peculiarity foreign to his age and time, is considered the representative of New Oriental Aesthetics in the younger generation.
